Such a lovely conversation with My So-Called Life co-producer Monica Wyatt yesterday, even as she was recovering from this $#@ bug that’s been going around. (I am, too, come to that.)
I’m particularly indebted to her for:
Clearing up a couple of technical questions I had about how the show's signature look was achieved
Her memories of hunting down songs to use in the show with Andrew Leary. (Among other achievements, she was the one who chose Engima’s “Return to Innocence” for the mother-daughter fashion show scene at the end of “The Zit.”)
Providing a fresh lead on tracking down someone I’ve been searching for since I first decided to write this book nearly two years ago. (Fingers crossed.)
Since leaving the TV business, Monica’s also become a respected artist – check out her sculptures here. (There's also a great interview with her – and more photographs of her work – here.)
